I simply wanted to post a thank you to my sister for getting me a USFL throwback ringed T-shirt and a hooded sweatshirt this Christmas. A thank you also has to go out to a friend of mine who got me the “I am a football fan… and I miss the USFL” t-shirt.
All 3 were awesome gifts, so a public thank you was deserved!
If you are considering collecting USFL memorabilia and merchandise due to its scarcity then take note of this fan! Evidently, he has taken USFL memorabilia collecting to a new level. Just a quick glance of the photos will show you that he has some unique items which may be difficult, if not impossible, to find on the open market. http://www.geocities.com/usflmuseum/usflfeatured.html
The Memphis Showboats, who played in the 1984 and 1985 USFL seasons, actually had 3 different logos. For the two seasons in which they played, the helmets used the “half-paddlewheel” logo for the helmet decal. Had the Showboats played in the fall of 1986 then they may have used one of their alternate logos.
Here is a link which shows all 3 Memphis Showboats logos, and it also shows photos of Showboats sideline jackets used during actual USFL games: http://www.usfl.info/showboats/archives.html
Here is a link to a manufacturer of USFL “retro” caps. They are designed in today’s styles, and there are some unique caps such as:
Jim Kelly # 12 Houston Gamblers caps
Gary Anderson # 43 Tampa Bay Bandits caps
Craig James # 32 Washington Federals caps
Etc.
The site is not well-designed in terms of easily being able to find privacy policies, being able to mail in your order, etc. So please contact them first before you enter your credit card information. This site and its owners has no relationship with this link: http://www.rajasha.com/SearchResult.aspx?CategoryID=6. The link is being posted because it purports to offer some unique USFL merchandise which has not been seen elsewhere.
Should you have favorable dealings with them then please contact us or leave a comment on this post so that other USFL memorabilia and merchandise collectors can learn about your experiences.
It talks about USFL fans, unique collections such as cancelled paychecks of Jim Kelly and inter-team memos, and the company which registered the old logos for the USFL mini helmets.
